Sterling’s medical director is experienced in working with state and federal health policy. In 2003 she was one of only 27 people appointed by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tommy Thompson to the Advisory Committee on Regulatory Reform. The purpose of this committee was to streamline regulatory requirements at HHS agencies, specifically CMS. Sterling’s goal is to work with employers, HHS and CMS to find new and better ways to improve the quality of healthcare for a growing retiree population.
