Sterling Discount RxSM - A Prescription Savings Plan
The products and services described below are neither offered nor guaranteed under the Sterling Life Insurance Company contract with the Medicare Program. In addition, they are not subject to the Medicare appeals process. Any disputes regarding these products and services may be subject to the Sterling Life Insurance Company grievance process.

This discount program is NOT a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program, nor does it constitute Creditable Prescription Drug Coverage for purposes of the Medicare Part D program.

Discounts offered through the use of a pharmacy discount card are not insurance and are not intended as a substitute for insurance.

A Simple Way to Save Money on Prescription Drugs
Sterling Discount RxSM is a program that offers prescription discounts to Sterling health plan enrollees/policyholders. The Sterling Discount RxSM Prescription Savings plan is an alternative to conventional prescription drug insurance at a low monthly cost. You can choose a plan for you or your family:

  • Individuals: $9.95 per month
  • Family: $14.95 per month - covers spouse and dependent children who reside at your address.

To enroll in this program, you must be a Sterling health plan enrollee/policyholder.

Sterling Discount RxSM Prescription Discounts
The Sterling Discount RxSM plan includes three tiers of discounts for prescriptions. For each 30-day supply, members pay:

  • Tier 1: $10 or less for preferred generic prescriptions – over 550 prescription drugs to choose from.
  • Tier 2: $20 or less for preferred brand name prescriptions – over 200 prescription drugs to choose from.
  • Tier 3: A reduced cost on prescriptions not covered in tiers 1 or 2 – Members pay 100% of the discounted rate (as much as 30% off) for all non-preferred prescriptions.

A convenient mail order option is available for Tier 3 prescriptions.

The Sterling Discount RxSM plan is accepted at more than 50,000 pharmacy locations across the United States including:

  • CVS
  • Costco
  • Fred Meyer
  • K-Mart
  • Kroger
  • Rite Aid
  • Safeway
  • Sam's Club
  • Target
  • Walgreens
  • And Many More!

What Prescription Medications are Covered and Which Pharmacies will Accept the Sterling Discount RxSM Card?
The Sterling Discount RxSM Guide to Benefits will give you a complete listing of preferred drugs within each tier. There is also a list of pharmacies near your home included in the Guide to Benefits. How to use the Sterling Discount RxSM Card
Present your Sterling Discount RxSM membership card at any participating pharmacy and the discount is computed automatically. As an enrollee, you’ll receive a Sterling Discount RxSM Guide to Benefits that will outline the prescription benefits provided through the plan and help you understand how you can maximize your savings.
