
Leads are the lifeblood of any sales organization. At Sterling, we realize that
in order to be successful our Sales Agents need leads, and we provide them.
More importantly, we train Sales Agents how to work leads more effectively,
generating more referrals and more sales. Not only do we have our own leads
database of more than 9 million Medicare eligibles, we also utilize outside
lead vendors to increase the volume of prospective clients to call on. Along
with providing leads, we teach our agents how to work them for optimum results
and how to develop their own new leads. Our goal is to give our Sales Agents
more leads than they can handle.
In addition to our database with millions of Medicare eligibles, other types
of leads we provide are: persons who will turn 65, direct mail responders,
lapsed policyholders, policyholders for cross-selling complementary products
and direct responders from newspaper, radio, and television advertising,
seminars and events, as well as inquiries from our popular website,
www.sterlingplans.com.
Another extremely important aspect of our success is referrals. We receive
daily referrals from policyholders, doctors, hospitals, and others. These
leads are given top priority and are distributed to productive Sales Agents
for immediate follow-up.

Sterling has a fully operational Marketing Team handling everything from
concept to creation, printing, production, direct mail, media buying and
coordination. The Marketing Team works with the Market Manager to develop
a marketing plan to generate more leads, increase awareness, and produce
sales. Each marketing strategy is tracked closely to determine effectiveness.
This gives us information about where we are getting the most “bang for our
buck.” Sterling also promotes its products through seminars, special events,
sponsorships, Senior Olympics, expos and health fairs. All leads generated
from these activities go directly to our Sales Agents for follow-up.

Because many people rely on their healthcare providers for information about
Medicare and related products, we are diligent in our efforts to keep them
informed about Sterling products and services. With our hospital-contracted
products, Sterling Medicare Select and Sterling Partners®, we work closely
with Network Hospitals and offer in-service seminars, orientations, product
brochures, and literature. Our Provider Relations Team is charged with improving
communication with doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals.
We also offer a toll-free number with live representatives to answer questions
from providers. In addition, each Market Manager, along with the help of Provider
Services, takes an active role in developing close relationships with providers
in his or her service area.
